Fast edema Brothers and sisters, the fast certainly brings strange things with it...
We will piss off to Kronach with our brothers from Nachtwindheim to celebrate a fast orgy. At the end of it (16.3.) we will hold a final prayer at the JUZ Struwelpeter, if we make it that far. A never-before-seen exorcism should take place there as well... I'm scared myself, but all on the edge at the same time... Bruder Liebe

POTENTIA ANIMI celebrate christmas The lord’s dearest servants are back! And the brotherhood known as POTENTIA ANIMI wouldn’t be POTENTIA ANIMI if they let the Lord’s main celebration, the birth of His son, pass them by uncommented.
That’s why these not-so-kosher monks honor us with an EP titled “Sind die Lichter angezündet?” (“Are the Lights on?”), presenting their very own statement about the birth of God’s son. And the timing couldn’t be more perfect: the beginning of the advent season, just before the whole Christmas business gets serious. Be prepared for December 4th, 2006!
On “Sind die Lichter angezündet?” there’s something for everyone. POTENTIA ANIMI’s humorous adaptations of classic German Christmas carols like „Morgen Kinder wird’s was geben“, Kling, Glöckchen, kling!“ oder „Guten Abend, gute Nacht“, will reach beyond their usual parish, well into the hearts of family celebrations complete with aunts and grannys.
Here the Tracklist:
1.Des Jahres letzte Stund
2.Morgen Kinder wird’s was geben
3.Es ist ein Ros entsprungen
4.Stille Nacht
5.Tausend Sterne sind ein Dom
6.Kling, Glöckchen, kling!
7.Oh Tannebaum
8.Schnabausens arme Kind
To live up to the tradition of these classic songs, POTENTIA ANIMI have used both prominent and exotic help. Prominent guest musicians such as cellist B. Deutung (INCHTABOKATABLES) and Alexander Goldmann with his modified church organ Lola (LOLA ANGST), and exotic instruments like Indian tabla drums and a lita (Indian guitar with 24,000 strings), which underline the musically ambitious character that POTENTIA ANIMI have preserved despite their rather obscene sense of humor.

The kings of gleemen are back! Not even twelve months after the sensational success of their monumental Carmina Burana piece "Cantus Buranus", CORVUS CORAX are back again with original material to delight the medieval community. Their newest masterstroke is entitled "Venus Vina Musica", and it couldn't have been more aptly titled, as the motto of the record is: "Love, wine and music is what makes life worth living!"
The seven musicians return with a trip to the 13th Century, centered around the odyssey of a traveling gleeman obsessed with the desire to find the mysterious dancer Sanyogita, at that time the most beautiful woman on earth. During his travels he visits Europe, Northern Africa and Asia Minor, all the way to the Far East. This way he learns about various fascinating cultures, thus expanding his musical repertoire.
800 years later CORVUS CORAX use bagpipes, drums and instruments from various different countries to take us on a multicultural musical adventure trip into the 13th Century!
It is up to everyone to get their "Venus" and "Vina" now! The "Musica" is provided by CORVUS CORAX, the kings of gleemen!

POTENTIA ANIMI sign to Staupa Musica worldwide In the beginning of 2006 POTENTIA ANIMI decided to work together with Staupa Musica in Germany as well. As a result their second sin, “Psalm II”, will be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on April 28th (May 1st in the rest of Europe).
Expect the five monks in best shape, telling again some (un)holy stories about the treasures and secrets that are hidden behind church walls (and that were meant to remain there!). Be lead into temptation by hypnotic medieval rhythms and archaic choirs and chants combined with poppy choruses and elements of modern (Hard) Rock. Frivolous and waggish lyrics, not quite meant to be taken seriously, are served on top.
In February the German press already had the chance to have a listen to this masterpiece of medieval music with a modern approach! Listen what they experienced:
„Someone who links medieval instruments and sacral choirs to dusty and quixotic church music, should experience POTENTIA ANIMI. It’s a musical and lyrical kick in the ass. They play a unique mixture of whimsical and cheeky lyrics below the waistline, guitar riffing and perfectly trained choirs. These monks couldn’t be more entertaining!“ Andreas Kais, Metal Heart Germany
“’Psalm II’ is a real masterpiece! […] These monks have the unique ability to arouse even extremely uptight people!” Thomas Manegold, www.subkultur.com

Corvus Corax have to cancel their Cantus Buranus gigs Corvus Corax unfortunately have to cancel their Cantus Buranus appearances together with the Ladies First Symphony Orchestra and the choir of Rubinstein Philharmonie that were planned for Bochum (7.11.) and Stuttgart (8.11.). The dates have to be moved.
The reason for this cancellation is an illness caused by a virus, that some of the choir singers caught on their recent tour in China. To find a replacement for the choir was impossible in this short period of time.
New dates aren't sorted out yet. The tickets can be returned at the box offices where they've been bought.
As soon as new dates are confirmed they will be announced.

Corvus Corax play with female orchestra After their spectacular performances of CANTUS BURANUS at the Wacken Open Air and at the Museumsinsel in Berlin, CORCUS CORAX will perform CANTUS BURANUS two more times this year, on November 7th in Bochum (Ruhrkongress) and on November 8th in Stuttgart (Beethovensaal).
Both gigs will surprise with a special performance: Corvus Corax will perform with the world’s one and only female orchestra, with the Ladies First Symphony Orchestra. Additionally they are joined by the choir of the Rubinstein Philharmonie.
Besides that there are also some sad news out of the CORVUS CORAX camp:
Meister Selbfried decided to quit his life as a musician and to leave CORVUS CORAX. He was a part of the band from the beginning on. But he will stay in the band’s environment, because he’ll work „behind the scenes“ for their own label Pica Music.
Here’s a statement: "Dear friends und fans of Corvus Corax, after 19 years in CORVUS CORAX I decided to quit my life as an active musician. There are moments in life when priorities change and you have to follow new inspirations. Some important changes in my private life changed the direction of my way. For you this decision might sound very spontaneous, but I and the band discussed it for a long time. It wasn’t an easy decision. I will go on doing some lyrics for the internet and giving interviews. With time marching on I will more and more start to handle the normal day business in our office. Furthermore I will manage the young and promising Band DevilsKiss from Berlin. I want to thank all friends and fans that stayed true to us and to me. Sincerly yours, Meister Selbfried"

Corvus Corax enter German longplay charts on position #15 We are proud to announce that Corvus Corax managed to enter the German Media Control Charts on #15 with their orchestral adaptation of the medieval song collection Carmina Burana called “CANTUS BURANUS”.
With their orchestral adaptation of Carmina Burana Corvus Corax override time, room and acoustic barriers. With power and passion they expand into endless depths of an ancient, global music. Together with a philharmonic orchestra and a choir Corvus Corax draw a huge bow with its beginning in medieval times, crossing classic and romantic traditionals, and its end in our modern Rock and Pop era.

Cantus Buranus The new CORVUS CORAX’ adaption of the medieval collection of lyrics called "Carmina Burana" has a new name: "Cantus Buranus".
Band and record label agreed to use this new title for the upcoming album and the gigs in order to avoid confusion with Carl Orff’s famous compositions, that are titled „Carmina Burana“.
All concert tickets with the old title printed on it are still valid, of course. You can buy tickets for the gigs on the 19th and 20th auf August via ticket-online.de and CTS.
